Roi Aloni

B

orn in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1973. Married to Ilil, father of Tal.

 

Began playing the piano at the age of six. Played without guidance until age 12. In 1990 went to New York to study with Prof. Yoheved Kaplinsky. Several months after arriving to the US, participated in a piano competition for young artists in NY and won first prize. Two years later returned to Israel for military service. After military discharge, enrolled at the Jerusalem Academy of Music, studying with Prof. Michael Bugoslavsky, where graduated in high honors and won prizes at the Academy's competitions for solo, concerto and chamber repertoire.

 

Participated in master classes with eminent pianists, such as Murray Perahia, Leon Fleisher, Claude Frank, Menahem Pressler and Itamar Golan.  In summer of 1999 was among 6 pianists who were invited to participate at the Ravinia international festival, held in the outskirts of Chicago.

 

A frequent lecturer and pianist throughout Israel, England and the United States. A graduate of the Tel Aviv University with high honors, for the degree of MBA.

 

Collaborated with "Play for Peace", an organization introducing Israeli and Palestinian children, as pianist and musical arranger.
