In this lecture we will explore the last compositions of some of the renowned composers, while attempting to resolve some of the uncertainties regarding them – Was the composer aware that it was his last composition, did he consequently write it differently, do we as an audience listen to it in a different way, and more importantly – was it really the last composition or are we to expect the future to surprise us with another masterpiece we have yet to come across.
